The Catholic Action League is still bitchin’ and moanin’ about gay marriage, saying that by continuing to issue marriage licenses before the public gets to vote is somehow influencing “the robust debate that should be taking place”. They tried to petition to stop gay marriages last year, failed, and now will appeal before the whole Supreme Judicial Court.
I just don’t get why they think that allowing gay marriages now will affect voters’ decisions later. I mean, if they are right and gay marriages will rend the fabric of morality and family values, then won’t voters see that happen then make the right choice? What better than to have a little experiment to see what really happens? Clearly they are afraid that The Gays will get married, nothing bad will happen to anyone (except possibly the homophobes but probably not even), and the country will move on to real issues like poverty, war, corruption, and coffee in the computer lab.
