Whole Foods coming to Nashville

posted by friedApplePie in nashville; and food @ 5:13 pm

Thank god! Whole Foods is moving to Nashville, just in time - they are scheduled to open late in 2006. I hope it’s not one of those Big Dig things where they don’t actually open until 2010 or something, I don’t think I’d survive.

And, it’s quite close to Vanderbilt - about 4 miles away. I couldn’t find its exact address, but it’s supposed to be just south of The Mall at Green Hills in a new shopping plaza called Hill Center.

more on time traveler convention

It seems that the MIT Time Traveler’s Convention that takes place tomorrow has succeeded in getting quite a bit of press, including an article in today’s New York Times. The article also gives some insight into the lives of MIT students - are they just perpetuating stereotypes or are MIT kids really like that?

Kerry opposes gay marriage (again)

posted by friedApplePie in the queer category; and boston; and things in the "news" @ 3:52 pm

Well, I guess we already know that Kerry is supposedly against gay marriage. Now he is saying that he is against the official state Democratic platform supporting gay marriage. He doesn’t think that it accurately reflects the views of a majority of democrats in Massachusetts. More like he doesn’t think he will have a chance in the 2008 presidential election if his state continues to be labelled as the “gay marriage state”. Happily the platform committee will carry on without Kerry.
