yesterday’s mishap
The Little Red Haired Girl works Tuesday through Saturday weeks, so we don’t get much weekend time together. For the next few weeks, she will be working everyday to get two new exhibits in. I don’t mind having time at home by myself, but it means that we have to make an extra effort to get any q.t. Yesterday I thought I’d do just that by walking the half hour to The Museum to surprise her after work. I thought it would be nice to walk home together.
Well, I waited for about twenty minutes outside The Museum, thinking she might be getting out late. Finally she called my cell, asking where I was. Apparently, she had left work just before I got there, and had gotten a ride home from her boss. Argh.
The night did turn out ok, even though that missed connection made us both cranky for a while. We ended up grabbing some shish kebab at the fair in The Park, then going home and deep frying snacks to go with our beer. There’s nothing like a little fried goodness to turn the day around.
