Happy New Year!
Wow, we had a good time today, despite being exhausted from the ten hour party we hosted yesterday and the maximum of 6 hours that each of us slept. It may have been Lady E and Peaches’s first New Years outside of Eastern Standard Time, and we were on the road when midnight hit in New York, and everyone felt a little weird about that. The networks played the Times Square footage an hour late here though, so we got to pretend we were in EST anyway.
The rest of the day was spent in Memphis. We knew that we wanted to do the Graceland tour this afternoon, but we were pretty up in the air about what to do after that. We ended up spending about 3 hours at Graceland, then heading to Beale St to look around. We had no idea it would be so fun. We were going to call Everything Guy and The Theater Prof for recommendations about restaurants since they used to live there, but we were too lazy and ended up asking a Graceland staff guy. He gave us some options, and we ended up at a place on Beale St, only to discover that the street was closed off and Big Ass Beers To Go were being sold everywhere! Peaches and Lady E were practically skipping, they were so excited. We did not stay too long there, but it was fun to hang out for a while.
I guess there are lots of fun stories to tell about all these days when I didn’t post, but I’m all kinds of sleepy right now and not so coherent. Happy New Year!
