the world is your acorn

This morning I did my third and final observation in a Calculus classroom at a local public high school for my Institutional Settings and Instructional Practice class. The first two times, when I left, I really missed being a teacher, and felt that itch to get back in the classroom. This time when I left, I really wanted to be a detective in 21 Jump Street. I wanted to infiltrate the student culture and understand the inner workings of academic and social interplay. And I wanted another chance at my high school classes, which I sort of blew off the first time around. Except I think if I did poorly this time, I’d be really depressed. And if all the kids thought I was lame and didn’t let me “in”, I’d be even more depressed. So maybe it wasn’t such a good idea afterall.

Oh well, nevermind.
