here comes ABP!!
The thing that I have been dreaming of has finally happened. Au Bon Pain is coming to Nashville! For years, there has been a McDonald’s in the Medical Center/Hospital here at VU, and while I no doubt benefitted from its presence on plenty of Friday mornings, it has always struck me as an odd choice for that location. Someone with power seems to agree, because now that the Mickey D’s lease has run out, they are replacing it with ABP! Of course all kinds of people here are pissed and saying that the decision-makers don’t care about the staff and patients and ABP will be too slow and too expensive and it’s not that much healthier than McDonald’s. But poo on them, WE’RE GETTING ABP!!!
Seriously, I’ve been searching high and low for a spinach croissant, or even a savory stuffed croissant, for SIX YEARS and not been able to find one. The Little Red Haired Girl was even going to try and order some frozen from ABP for my birthday one year, but it was stupid expensive.
The new store doesn’t open until June (sad face), but there will be a “grab and go” temporary location starting the end of February. *Fingers crossed for spinach croissant and/or southwest tuna wraps*
